Nigerian Govt suspends National Airline project indefinitely.

The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika broke the news through his Twitter handle @hadisirika that the Federal Executive Council FEC has suspended the National Carrier Project in the interim.

His tweet

"I regret to announce that the Federal Executive Council has taken the tough decision to suspend the National Carrier Project in the interim. All commitments due will be honored. We thank the public for the support as always.🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳"🇬"

The project sparked controversy when it was first announced with notable Nigerians including the likes of Mrs. Oby Ekwesili and many others questioning the preparedness, commitment, and sincerity of the government to fund such a project with no clarity of mode of operation, owners and investors structures.
